Its on the horizontal part of the hose that goes to the rad, you can see it on the other photo. This is the old style top hose, the current one has it in the T piece.

Could the oil be coming from the fan clutch (looks like it is working its way up the fan blades?)-might also explain the sudden overheating?
I have seen them spew out oil like that before.
Might be confusing oil with coolant. OAT does stain and looks similar to oil. If you're water pump has failed as sudenly as you've explained, it usually means internal pressure (bad) has popped the bearing. Which may explain were the coolant went to begin with. If that's the case the water you put in will come out of the pump and be easy to see without pressure. Only no this from experience, I replaced a pump, trying to eliminate leaks one by one and the new one let go in a matter of weeks.
Get it checked by an experienced landy mechanic, not only will they fix but do the neccesary mods to stop it happening again.:D
