D2 stereo fitting - Facia, gaps, sizes etc

    Hey all.

Got an OEM D2 CD/Radio (non stacker) that I'd like to replace. Looking at a lot of posts on here they seem to be mainly about the ISO connectors etc. What I want to know is how do you make a replacement FIT into the dash properly. Are there fascia panels to fill the gaps left by smaller head units? Are there head units that just pop straight in? Are there caddys etc that might fit under the smaller head units to fill the space? Then I move onto speakers.. they should be easy tho.

Any advice / pics / product recommendations / thread links would rock.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

    Wil

Hi Wil. If you remove the OEM stereo you will find that there is a standard single DIN size hole remaining. This will fit any single DIN head unit that you wish. Once you fit up a new head unit there will be a small ledge visible at below the bottom edge, but in practice you soon forget about it, and it looks like it is meant to be there anyway.

So in short, install a single DIN unit and move on...
