    Turning circle results

Thanks to the earlier posters on turning circle. Here are my bog standard D2 measurements before and after cutting my steering bump stops:
Right hand stop: 27mm 21mm. Left hand stop: 27mm 22mm (I was aiming for 23 mm each but was a bit sloppy with the angle grinder)
Steering wheel to right: 1.6 turns 1.8 turns. Steering wheel to left: 1.55 turns 1.9 turns.
Turning circle, measured outside front right tyre: 13.3 metre, 11.7 metres.
Turning circle, measured outside front left tyre: 13.4 metre, 11.6 metres.

About time I did this to mine, I need to do a u-turn daily on a 4 lane road in inner Melbourne and I only just make it from gutter to gutter. Maybe this will help ?

Great idea but do you think that this will change the reliablility of the cv's when on full lock and loaded up, 4wding etc.

I blew a few CV's on the front of my rodeo when I raised the susp. This was due to the increased angle of the joint. Can be common on a number of IFS vehicles when CV angles changed.

Just wondering if there is many others out there that have done what you have done and any reliability issues.

    Thanks

    Dave

I believe that before they started putting 18" wheels on the D2 they came with the shorter steering stops. The shorter stops can be purchased from LR for later D2a which all came with the longer stops on both 16" and 18" wheels.

I think that the CVees would be within their operating range however the greater the angle the more likely you are to do some damage so you could be right.

Cut mine down today to 21mm, can't believe the difference it has made, I reckon at least 2m better turning circle now.
I wish I had done it sooner !!!

BTW I am running 16s with 245/75 muddies and no rubbing evident.
