    Sidesteps

    Hi Chris
I bought a secondhand pair of Landrover D1 sidesteps for 120.00. These are the tube variety with the removable rubber button type treads over a steel plate.
I removed the rubber treads, repositioned the brackets and rewelded them in place. Primed then repainted them in black epoxy paint.
Then refitted the rubber treads and fitted the steps to the chassis.
I found they had a little give in them when you put weight on them so I made up 4 x angle hangers that srewed to the inside face of the door sills down onto the side of the side step brackets.
They are only used for access not rock sliding etc. All up cost about 150.00 plus 3 hrs in time. They look good and are very strong and ecconomical . Maybe an option if else fails.
    Cheers
    Steve

Thanks for everyone's input and PM's. Especially Chris, Wardy and Dale.

I got lucky and found a cheap set of ARB steps today. Job done, all installed.
