    Idler pulley info

    Hey,

I'm looking for a new idler pulley (V8) as mine is a little squeaky.

    Is it 70mm or 80mm?

Where's the best place to source one And what sort of price should I expect?

    Cheers,
    C

I would think you would just knock out the old bearing and source one from a bearing supplier type place for a fraction of the cost.

    Nope.
It can be pulled apart, but the effort (it's reasonably difficult to break it down) and cost involved compared to a complete new unit isn't worth it.

Is there something unusual about the V8 idler pulleys/bearings?

Thanks P. Yeah, I might as well change the serpentine while I'm at it.

Not that I'm aware of... Why do you ask?

Oh yeah, Pedro... I'm looking at the 70mm pulley right?

I thought it was 70mm, but noticed an 80mm pulley too. I'm talking about the pulley that's located one the PAS/ACE side of the engine, not the one near the belt tensioner. I'm pretty sure one is 70 and the other 80, just can't remember which is which.

Yep, I'm already onto the different sized belts depending on AC & A
ACE components. Thanks for the reminder.
