    Survival gear = heaps
In car electronics = they have it all.
Suspension Mods = you bet and they needed it for all the weight.
    Engine Mods = ZERO
And the point of this comment?

A properly enhanced engine or no more or less likely to have an issue.

Ah!,, the point is,, look at Skiddys recent post about it.
But I guess if you have the money to spend on the mods to make it work and the potential problems, go for it...

Properly tuned to suit the level of modifications on the vehicle even a factory stock vehicle can be tuned with safe gains.

    No large bank balances required.

Gday all I was about to get this done (ECU upgrade)to give more towing power etc. Now I'm not so sure I want to do it after reading this. I have been told by a very reputable LR repairer here in Melb that there is no need to do any other mods with the chipping. I was told you can get these other things done if desired but were certainly not neccessary. Basically said it was BS. He said there are thousand/s of these getting around with them in and not one has gone bang yet.I was just going to get the chip done and thats it, so you's reckon not to do it with out all the rest of the work done being done also,Because I'm not interested in all the other bits $$$$! Is that correct?. He was very adamant no further mods were required and as I said very reputable repairer which I think most LR people would know.

Sorry just confused as to whether I should do it or not

    Thanks Steve

re comments about Td5 Alive manual intercooler not fitting Aussie-spec vehicles due to location of R380 oil cooler, personally I reckon it's worth the relatively minor effort and cost of relocating the cooler with extension hoses to get the full benefit of a much larger intercooler which costs no more than the considerably smaller auto one...
