    Question TD5 AUTO TRANS FILTER

    2004 TD5 Disco

    All in the collective wisdom...
    just looked at another thread here

    and see that it mention auto transmission has a filter - havent seen a filter down there - can some one school me up on where this filter is please

    You won't have just seen the filter, as it lives inside the bottom of the gearbox.

    It is inside the transmission sump. You need to drain the sump then remove it - easy to do. You will need a transmission kit that includes the filter and rubber sump gasket.

    Yeah easy job, get a kit on EBAY here in Aus as part of a full filter kit, dirt cheap, but be sure not to strip the pan bolts in the alu trans housing and refil level as described.
