Im pretty sure that any turbo timer will interfere with the in car security imobiliser.

On a diesel a turbo timer is not needed as long as you drive normally for a minute or two before shutting down.

    Hello ssteph,

ARB will sell and fit a compatible turbo timer. I've had one fitted for over 12 months with no issues.
The timer will not allow you to set the D2 immobiliser until the motor has shut down.

    Cheers,

    Jason

Keep in mind most turbo timer installations are not legal.

Waste of money on a TD5, you have to wait to lock the car, might as well buy something a bit more important, like a low coolent alarm.

    Thanks

    Thanks guys for your advice.

I always leave the car idling for about a min when pulling up anyway so I'll give it a miss. I might look into a low coolant alarm.

Neither is egr removal, headlight upgrades or various other modifications but does that stop anyone doing them??

Don't hold me to this but I think I read or was told that 10 sec of idling prior to switching off is enough on the TD5, some where in the owners manual.

I just ease up the last 1km or so prior to a stop, idle up to my park and that is it. If I had been hard running and came to a sudden stop then your 1min idle sounds more than enough. No need to worry about this one.
