    Help Please. D2 Wont Start

Drove the 2002 td5 to the shop today. The M AND S light came up on the dash. the drive light under the odometer was flashing. Got to the shop went in came back and it was fine. Left the radio on for a hour and a half while i was working in the yard. went out again it started fine no warning lights on the dash all was good. Got back into her and it would not start. no dash lights no stereo could not even lock it as the central locking would not engage. disconected the battery let it sit for five got back in and she started. drove home pulled in the driveway turned her off and know it will not start at all. can any body help me please???? Thanks to all.

Check your alternator voltage when it's running.
Also check all the earth straps and battery terminals.

    D2 won`t start

Do as Alien suggests, but it could be a battery on the way out.Modern batteries don`t give much warning.

Bit difficult when it won't start.
I'd start by checking battery voltage/condition, preferably under load - D2's don't behave nicely when battery becomes run down.

I have seen a video rant of an american bagging his D2 as it had the same issues, M&S lights and randomly not starting. was the auto start lockout switch. Thats provided yours is auto.

M&S are a function of the auto.

How do you put a manual box into sport mode????

IIRC when battery goes low then various 'non essential' functions progressively shut down. Maybe the M & S lights and the sterio not working was simply part of the battery collapsing. I'd start, as mentioned previously, by checking/replacing the battery.
