UHF and gauge mount ideas into a Disco

Hamish, Ive also been wondering the best spot for the EMS1 which i have purchased but yet to "permanently" install. At the mo its in front of the CDL lever and i figure it has alarms that sound when a prob is detected so it can prob stay there? I do like the Lil buddy idea though except i have a ranga special 7 inch GPS right in the same spot.

Scott - just installed the uhf last weekend in the centre of the roof similar to Gerardw's post here however my unit was a uniden so was a lot larger than Gerard's GME so it coudnt be recessed like that

Ill post up pics tomorrow night.

Sounds like you are starting to get the D2 up to spec? still dark i missed the KM2's

I agree. Which is why I'm considering the bottom of the A pillar with an EMS2 as it's just there next to the main instrument console.

This is how i mounted my UHF and EMS 1, although the EMS is not fully functional yet.

The UHF was connected to the spare black (-ve) and green wire (+ve) wire that must be there for the elec sunroof. It is only active when the key is on, so works perfectly for me. Others may want constant power to their UHF which isnt all that hard either.

Ah nice one. I have dual electric sunroofs in the HSE, so not an option there for me. I reckon the unit under the drivers seat with the remote features on the handset will be the way for me to go!

No an Icom 440 is just a mic with all the controls on it the transiecver is just a box you can mount anywhere see the link. All you have on the dach is the mic. Yours is a 400

How do you get the wiring through the top of the dash? What's the trick there?

I'm hoping to put my EMS2 and a boost gauge up there.
