Unhappy Changing illumination lighting in the Instrument cluster

I have a disco 2 year 2002. The illumination lighting in the Instrument cluster have all gone out. I have checked the fuses and they all appear to be ok. How do you check the lights in the cluster, I do not have a clue how to get to them?

Have a look for your trailer wiring loom fuse in specific. You'll prob find the parkers down the right side are also gone? Trailer fuse it'll be.

Rosie, there are 3 lamps that illuminate the instruments and one tiny lamp that lights the milometer and I have just changed the lot. To get at them you need a PZ1 and PZ2 screwdriver and a stubby PZ2 as well. Before you start, find your radio code.
    1. Disconnect the battery
    2. Using a coin, drop the fuse panel cover under the steering column
    3. Undo the 3 screws holding the 2 halves of the steering column cowling together and remove, don't lose the rubber surround for the key hole.
    4. You now have access to the 2 screws in the bottom edge of the instrument binnacle surround, undo these.
    5. Now the hard bit, lift the binnacle surround, it will resist after about an inch of movement, there are 2 spring clips that you have to defeat at the back of the shroud. It needs a good shove and makes a sickening bang when it comes undone.
    6. Move the shroud to one side, no need to unplug it. You will see 4 screws, 2 each side of the instrument pod. Undo these.
    7. On the back of the pod there are 3 brown lamp holders, these turn anticlockwise 1/4 turn and drop out.
    8. The small grey holder for the milometer light might need a screwdriver to twist it out.
    9. Change the lamps (best to change the 3 instrument lights all together) and reassemble.
    10. The milometer light comes up as a 'dealer only' part in some suppliers. I got ours from Rimmer Bros.

    Thanks you were spot on

It was the trailer fuse you were right. But what the hell, what does this have to do with that wiring loom?

I've no idea, ask BMW, i believe they are responsible for the LR's electricals. I just know mine blows everytime I plug a trailer in. I think maybe a bad earth connection. I haven't chased mine thus far
Slightly quicker than pulling your dash to pieces trying to find a rattle then flipping the ash tray open to find a pair of the GLW's earrings floating round in there
