Looks like op has done a good job at selling the xrox bar for the disco's. When they ask me last year if I wanted one and would I mind to wait a few mouths to get it made up which I didn't mind and I'm glad I did,now all us landy's can share the same market as to the Nissan and Toyota and show how the xrox are looks better on a disco than these pootrols and toyotas
I don't mind the look of these but personally prefer the look of the TJM. I have the TJM winch bar. The tray for the winch bolts to the chassis rather than relying on the bar and cans. I also like having welded wings and light protection. Anyone who is considering these xrox bars should consider these things I reckon and check out the tjm in the flesh. Cheers
I spoke to my local OP on friday and asked about the D2 bar, they knew they where coming and that one was to be fitted to a D2 soon. I said that was done last week so they are calling on monday to confirm the price so I can place my deposit.
Looking a 4 - 5 week wait for it to arrive.
I orderd one through OL in Ballarat last week, they contacted outback accessories direct and confirmed the bar was available. I posted all these details earlier in this thread, along with the deal being offered and the wait time of approx 4 weeks.
Cheers Matt
Good news, I will be ringing up the local OL tomorrow then. Will let you all know how it goes.
I like these bars- I do...
But do none of you go bush very often?
These will not protect in an animal strike.
And that washer guard is Naf (being polite) it defeats the approach angle and offroad one of you is going to smack it hard!!!!!
Something with that bottom design and decent upper protection across the entire frontal area would be great and I think could be made to look good too.
50% deposit tomorrow, 3 week delivery.
I will definitely get a smaller washer tank and relocate it inside the engine bay it's just in the way otherwise.
I go bush quite often mate, I haven't had a bull bar until now so it's better than nothing I suppose :D
And thats no issue... Like I said - I like the look... And your ride, your choice.
Agree that washer bottle needs to be addressed to prevent an impact point.
My comment re Increased protection is not so much "bush" trips, but higher speed touring type runs, where animal strike protection is premium.
Taking anything smaller than a tiny Euro will not go well...
AND... for those not versed in what happens - striking something (animal) on the corners where the front tyres are much more exposed with these style bars can get very interesting.. The steering effect of the strike going higher on the tyre can seriously throw the vehicle at speed.
