Ahhh, the good ol' 3 Amigos, Option B, Shuttle Valve discussion again.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't spead any money on the ABS Amigo thing. It's really not worth it. Sytematic inspection of why you're actually receiving the warnings is a much better approach before deciding on how to remedy.
Also, as has been discussed many times before, it's debatable as to whether the shuttle valve is ever at fault, regardless of the readings you've received.

3 Amigos can appear for many reasons - Low pads, dirty/wet/loose/faulty/broken ABS or speed sensors, incorrect pads, squealing pads, thing rotors, faulty ABS modulator, dogs barking at the moon on the 23rd day of every third month....
I would start by inpecting all of these first before jumping into Option B. Yes, I agree that Option B is a fantastic remedy, especially if everything checks out and is functioning correctly and you keep getting shuttle valve errors, but not if you're problem is worn/incorrect pads or a loose sensor e.t.c...

In terms of being able to reset the lights now that you've done the Option B fix.. I don't know, but have you tried the "Ctrl-Alt-Del" reset? Do a search on the forum for it to find out what the sequence is... This might just cure your particular problem.

The Three Amigos that reset with a stop/restart are an individual "soft" fault.

When the Three Amigos won't go away, that's a "hard" fault (254 registerings of the "soft" fault). This takes a diagnostic tool to "clear" the fault (nanocom, etc).

Thanks Sully you have just justified why I bought an ABS Amigo in the first place. ... you should advertise for them!! I think I explained how they work well enough early on in this thread,, I'm not selling them either...

That makes no sense at all compared to what I suggested as a remedy for the Amigos.

I'm happy that you like the instrument and find it worthy of the money you spent. I do hope you can forgive me for suggesting that other members can fix their cars for a fraction of cost without it.

[FONT=""][COLOR=""][SIZE=""]I agree with sully,everything needs to be checked they are on for a reason and there's so many reasons they can be on.the poor guy before me replaced the shuttle valve,then the abs modulator.and that seemed to work no problems from 2006 till last year they came back on when I had hub oil leaking then replaced that,as well as brakes all round(they were basically metal on metal)no problems since,even if I do slam the brakes on.but I used a specialist sometimes it does pay off to get it diagnosed with the right equipment[/SIZE][/COLOR][/FONT]

I agree totally with both of you, all Im saying is that you can diagnose it yourself anywhere with the gadget I'm talking about and a laptop. Just another way to diagnose a fault causing the amigo's that's all.
