What we need is a plastic modern ****box .... that we can get the motor out of and take the harness with it so the "electronic gizmos" keep working. They are all integrated into the CAN and VAN networks these days. Bolting up a modern diesel and gearbox into the old rangie is the easy part............. Actually getting it running with the electronics involved is the hard bit

the modern cars don't interest me in the slightest. Older diesel are just sooooooooo slllloooooooooooooowwwwww and have quite poor fuel economy compared to the modern versions.
I've driven a range rover classic with a 300TDi fitted ..... It is very "sedate" ... I certainly wouldn't want to tow with it!
