It was easy to do. I bought some aftermarket grille material from Autobarn for $30 (comes in red, pink, blue, silver or black). It came in a sheet 1200mm x 280, but I only needed 900x250mm. I removed the grille first. I took the Dremel tool and cut out the centre of the D2 grille, leaving the sides, bottom and top. The piece fitted neatly. Then I took some off the 30mm off cut and cut it and bent it into four 'L' brackets. I drilled them into place so they tightly held the grille in place. I cut out the LR emblem, polished it up and used silicon to hold it in place.
FYI a replacement D2 grille is about $150 from the wreckers, so for $180 you get a looking grille rather than paying the AUD$450 they want for the aftermarket one that UP showed.
The whole process took about an hour.
Tomorrow I'll remove the grille and take some photo's to better explain how I attached it the grille to the frame.
