It was easy to do. I bought some aftermarket grille material from Autobarn for $30 (comes in red, pink, blue, silver or black). It came in a sheet 1200mm x 280, but I only needed 900x250mm. I removed the grille first. I took the Dremel tool and cut out the centre of the D2 grille, leaving the sides, bottom and top. The piece fitted neatly. Then I took some off the 30mm off cut and cut it and bent it into four 'L' brackets. I drilled them into place so they tightly held the grille in place. I cut out the LR emblem, polished it up and used silicon to hold it in place.
FYI a replacement D2 grille is about $150 from the wreckers, so for $180 you get a looking grille rather than paying the AUD$450 they want for the aftermarket one that UP showed.
The whole process took about an hour.
Tomorrow I'll remove the grille and take some photo's to better explain how I attached it the grille to the frame.

What....you guys can't see from that singular small scale picture taken at an obscure angle??
C'mon use your imagination....!!
(c'mon GEKO, get the pics up quick mate!)
Hmmmm..... Imagining cutting out the plastic centre of an original grille the forming the mesh around it to match the centre and reinstalling.....
Keiran, you up for some R&D??? A D2 & D2a version...
Using Capitals, the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse or helping your uncle jack off a horse...
Could well be!
Mines cracked anyhow, so this might just be the answer I'm looking for. And I reckon probably better airflow for cooling the V8 heat-meister, especially as the spots and winch controller now block a lot more wind.
Gotta be better, shirley....
GEK064 has sent me some info offline on what he's done, just waiting for the pics.
There's ALWAYS room for improvement on my particular D2....!!![]()
Sorry guys...got sent to another county for a week. I'll be back on Friday. ....had thought about asking the wife to remove the grille but thought better of it.....;-)

Just to recap. I bought the grille material from an auto shop for $30.00 I cut the center out of the old grill, and to fit the new grille material ,I screwed a strip of the new material, shapped into a L to hold the grille into placed. The picture is looking down at the L shapped bracket.
All took a hour or so.
