It could just be a vacuum leak from one of the hoses. As the leak gets worse, the pump can't keep up so your speed drops over time.
Check the hoses at the pump in the engine bay & also at the brake pedal switch first.
Over the last couple of weeks cruise control has been 'slipping'. I engage it at 105 and slowly it slips to 100 and then after 10 mins to 95km/hr - but today it will not engage. The fuse is fine. Yes i have larger tyres but had large ones for over 2years without a problem. Speedo is out by about 4%.
Where do I start to diagnose and repair?

Prefect thanks! I did a search but obviously did not search deeply enough. Appreciate the patience.

Hey guys, sort of related issue:
A while back now I did that vacuum hose repair (used that link provided by simonl8353), and seemed to be working OK.
I'm not a big fan of CC so don't use it much. But about a week or so ago I had to come back up the freeway from the dark side (SOR) and thought "not much traffic, I'll stick it on tonight".
Got to my desired speed, just under 100kph (honest!), and turned CC on. But it wouldn't "hold" on anything above 80kph. Once I'd got it holding on 80, I could increase the speed using the paddles and it would hold fine.
I needed to touch the brakes, hence auto cancelling the CC. Tried to re-engage CC afterwards and again it drops down to around 80 and I have to "paddle" it back up again.
Any ideas from anyone as to why this should happen?
I'm pretty sure the new pipe I put on was the same length and ID as the original, but that shouldn't cause an issue should it?
Cheers,
Brilliant - all done and now for a cruisey drive to Canberra. Thanks for the help.

I also have the same problem. I inspected the hose and it really doesn't seem like it needs replacing.
I have resolved my Cruise Control problems.
I removed the assembly and found that the vacuum pump, although motor running was functional no vacuum created.
Replaced assembly, adjusted CC cable. Hooray, all OK
