The RAVE says to unbolt the trans except for the top 2, drop the mounts then undo the the top 2, which is what I was going to do.
The coil packs came out when I removed the upper manifold.
I probably use some light gauge steel wire to tie up the convertor instead of the strap, I wouldnt have thought to do that, thanks.

I found out yesterday I was looking through the wrong hole (pass side) to find the TC bolts.
I need to get a longer extension to reach the bolts properly now that I can see them in the other hole (dr side). The side of the sump is in the way.
I also tried to remove the sump but its stuck to the block.
It was suggested to take off the starter motor to allow better access but the allen head screws are just as much a problem to undo.
More suggestions needed I think.

On Friday I went to SuperCheap and bought a set of extensions fairly cheap.
The weather was crap until Sunday, ironically, so with Barnacus' help the motor was out by dark.
I have say to without Barnacus' help I would still be struggling to progress with the swap.
Both motors are in the garage and I now need to swap the flex plate, starter motor and fit up some the accessories I already took off the dead motor.
As I put it back together I'll take some photos to show how much of a challenge this job has been so far.
