I appears that I have some coolant leaking ( from the pink stains) on the radiator where it connects to the plastic Radiator tanks on the driver side, I only noticed it after removed the top fan shroud.Quote:

I had a similar problem when I had the original OAT replaced. Within a couple of weeks it started leaking from the back of the inlet manifold gasket. I was only getting a small dribble down the back of the engine on one side.
If it that turns out to be the problem, get your HT leads replaced at the same time if they are on the older side. It's much easier to replace them with the inlet manifold off.

It's from NOT using OAT that you got the leak. I'm not going to go to explain it all again apart from it's just removed the crap left behind from using a non OAT coolant. There's plenty of posts about it and even more technical information when you look for it. And by technical information, I don't mean a mate of a mate who's cuzzy bro's a mechanic for NASA....Quote:

Ad for the cylinder head leak, it's a common thing unrelated to coolant and more towards the gradual breakdown of the very thin composite material from the outer engine mating area.

Well found another source of the coolant leak,:) I cleaned and degreased the underside of the engine and the next day I noticed a pink line running down the block. I traced it to the front of the head, the right head had just a couple of drops, but the left hand side whilst the engine was idling I could see a pink drop of OAT form every couple of minutes from the head gasket and then dribble down the block.:( There is also a coating of fresh engine oil also, so it looks like It's pulling the heads off to replace the gaskets.:(
Better to find now when it's still running ok that to have a catastrophic failure on the road somewhere.
This is the most common head gasket leak. TRS in Adelaide reckon the Elring OEM composite gaskets are good at compression but no good at holding water in, and that is my experience with Elrings on my 3.9 with a leak after about 70KK.
TRS sold me some you beaut gaskets they reckon are excellent especially with ARP head studs rather than stretch bolts. So far no leaks but early days yet.

Actually there's a point forgot. I know I'll say it on every thread about D2's, well any rover and heads. Please use ARP studs. Follow the pre-stretch procedure and it'll be good.
Phillip, were they tin gaskets rather than composite?
