Out of interest, did they charge you VAT on your order?

No VAT on exported items. When you go thru the shop, it will initially total it in the basket with VAT included and the separate VAT value but once you select the country of destination in the checkout and proceed to the payment area, VAT is removed.

Nice. I couldn't remember if they charged me VAT on the uprated MAF sensor and/or booster box.

I got a reply from a DUde in the UK last night. He reckons that a lot of people over there are now moving the automatic transmission cooler and then installing the larger full sized manual model intercooler. The thing is though that since the automatic transmission has a power/torque limit, I'm not sure if it's worth that extra effort, but I might poke my head under the car today and have a look at home much of a PITA it would be.

Just had the intercooler out to clean it , no noticeable difference in performance or fuel economy bugger it . But the intake was gunked up pretty bad . I was in such a rush to get it back in I did not even look at the possibility of moving the oil cooler .

Anyway my question is , I think I have read a post somewhere on using a later model auto controller as these did not have the limiter . I did not pay much attention as it was not what I was looking for . Has anyone heard of this ?

Now, when you read that you'll be think WTF am I on about, his ride is a manual. BUT the UK/EU manual Discovery's are not fitted with a manual gearbox oil cooler, the Australian delivered vehicles are. So our manual counterparts here in Australia are like us and have a gearbox oil cooler in their way from being able to mount the larger manual intercoolers (this explains why not Australian companies offer the larger manual intercoolers for sale here in Australia).
I do not know the size/setup of the manual oil cooler and how they compare to the oil cooler for the automatic transmission, but I imagine they can't be too different and that making brakets would be possible...

Likewise what a great idea spacing the cooler down - it'll probably be easier to clear the mud out of it down there also.

The manual transmission cooler I think is the same unit which the auto uses. I run an additional cooler again for the ATF because the standard one gets blocked with mud and overheats the auto. Looks like the big intercooler can be made to fit! Hmmm, now where is that money tree.

Dimensions aren't the only key - efficiency of cooling is, so is flow through both cooling fins and pressure side of core.

I wouldnt be lowering my Transmission cooler down into a more vulnerable position for any reason...

EGT reduction will reach a point where there is no gain and larger tanks and core induce lag due to the space in the 'cooler.

I researched this a lot when coming up with my design - including a larger core... For what we can safely get from these drivelines theres not a lot in it.

And dont forget - Poms have a lot cooler ambient environment... The vehicle has to be set up here to handle our extremes....
