Both 3rd and 4th have lock up, however I only ever notice 4th/D when it locks up at 80ish.

For giggles try swapping the MAF, I had an issue I swore and paid $3000- to fix was stuffed TC and clutches. I would loose drive in between 3rd/4th gear and on hills, lets just say I had to got into low on Old Windsor Rd once. New b ox, world of difference but still the same issue. I wholeheartedly agree with rebuilding, and with the $$ Ashcroft is the way to go foreign wise. Locally I only know paople in Sydney, but if you find someone that does drag car auto work they are pretty reliable with ZF's as they are getting good numbers with the new falcon ZF's.
