    D2 - seat torx bolt size ?

    folks, can anyone advise the size of the TORX bolts that secures the front seats in a Discovery 2 MY04 model (4 bolts per seat)?

    I've managed to remove them with a size 12 hex socket but would prefer to use the correct tool for refitting to ensure no further damage to the bolt heads and to make sure the seats are secured properly.

    just want to order the one I need (from somewhere like SnapOn Tools)

    (relates to a long story about water ingress into cabin following bogging in a water filled bog hole and needing to remove carpets to dry them
    )

    thanks

    Thanks, on the SnapOn website, TORX sizes appear to go from E4 to E24 - how does this relate, what would you recommend to order?

    I'm not sure of the size but if you take one of the bolts to any tool shop or Repco they will be able to match it to a torx bit for you

    I've used a socket on mine and it never slipped or damaged the bolt head with repeated undoing and tightening. I can't remember what size and whether it was a metric or imperial socket as it was out of my combo 1/2 drive sidchrome set.

    The "E" is for the external Torx, not the one you require to remove the seat. Below is a link to the sizes, hope this helps. Torx can be purchased at a lot of places, but take care to get a reputable set as the poor quality ones just twist.
