    Alternator failure! Not happy!

Drive down to collect the lad from work and shut the Disco down..

All went well, charge was ok on the way - on aftermarket guage...

    Restart vehicle and no charge

Checked the lot, seems the alternator (module) went POP

And whilst checking it out - bloody Fuel Regulator is dripping

Guess what I'm doing next break.....

Not good news Mike, but don't forget to replace the oil feed hose to the Vac pump at the same time; it WILL leak at some point and is way easier to change while alt is out EVERY alternator I replace/ remove for repair on Td5 's gets a new one.

    Enjoy the fuel reg replacement

Mike, are you going to do the o'rings or replace the FPR all together?

If you are doing the whole thing, I am about to place an order, probably from Paddocks for a new one for mine.

Can always get 2 at the same time...

    O'rings didn't work...

    Not a worry, Mike.

Anyone else want anything while I am at the shop?

I think the TD5 is different to the V8 but I got mine from Will Tillery in the states landed here for about $450 Aud about 5 months ago...this is the genuine Lucas Bosch one identical to the original on my D2 that lasted only 165000k. Here it was twice that. Will is lauded, rightly so, by all those on Discoweb. He trades as Roverguy.

    Cheers
