    Roof Cages

Has anyone tried these roof cages out??

Aluminium Alloy Roof Cage 4 Landrover Discovery1&2 | eBay

Almost looks too good to be true for the price but I don't need anything too heavy duty for the tent and few other bits.

    Interested in your opinions.

    Cheers,

    Rob

Mmmmm I don't know. It's a good price but some others are close these days too as advertised in 4wd mags or eBay too.

Do the other ones come with the cross bars too??
I checked out some prices for HD Rhino Rack cross bars and they were in the $200's just for the bars.

As far as i know the cage can be removed to allow you to just use the cross bars but I haven't seen the maximum carry weight.

Might have to take a drive up and have a look in person, they have a factory in Campbellfield.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

Looks like a knock-off of the Rhino HD crossbars/legs & their alloy tray.

I have a genuine Rhino tray & 3x HD crossbars/legs (2.0m long - just like the one in the 4th photo). Just make sure the legs are high enough! Rhino say to use their 280mm legs for the D2 ... I used the 210mm legs with 2x 10mm spacers each leg and re-profiled the inside of the legs to clear the radiused edge of the roof.

For $209 (tray & bars/legs) is pretty cheap .... as long as it's not made using el-cheapo nasty plastics, I reckon it's a very reasonable price.
