    Rear clunk

How do I test my rear trailing arm and suspension bushes on my D2, I have a clunk noise in the rear that I cant isolate and its driving me nuts!

    Hi
This might sound a bit weird but do you have a roof rack, I chased a squeak and a clunking noise for weeks and nothing I did changed it, Sounded like it was coming from the drivers side rear. I lent on the roof rack one day and got the same squeek. Tightened the roof rack and clunck and squeak dissapeared!

Lifted? If too far on std shocks then they can top out, or the watts link if its really high.

50mm lift with longer shocks, huge mounds like speedbumps and dips , no noise. If I drive over joints in the road or a small lip the noise is there.

I have a similar clunk in the right rear of my D2 and it has been there for a few weeks, regretably /luckily I discovered the cause the day before I flew up to the NT so the wife is driving sparingly as she has her car now she is home.

The cause the right rear upper shock absorber bush, I have standard shocks so I phoned the local landy guys and you can get the bush for the top for $17, another job for when I get home.

I found it by lifting the rear SLS and gave both shocks a shake and twist and found the culprit quiet easily, if it was a bottom bush they cant be replaced so I have ordered 2 and will do both sides asthe shocks are still good.

Both trailing arms were given the same treatment but didnt budge.

This might be the same problem for you as well.
