OK so you release the pressure THEN immediately after the car starts normally? Perhaps the charcoal canister valve is opening as soon as you turn on the ignition and flooding the engine with vapour. Try disconnecting the purge line or valve wires.

Probably, you can have a look for me.
Possibly your replacement tank breather is poorly designed and you have filled the charcoal canister with fuel. Pull it off and have a sniff. You should never be tempted to fill the corner tank to the brim.

car has been starting properly for over a week now,, coincidentally the pulp tank has been full for that time and its been running exclusively on pulp.
Filled the gas yesterday arvo and went to work last night on gas,,
midnight comes and car wont start again.
Turned the gas system off and car starts instantly,,
could all this trouble be the car trying to start on gas?
and how do I check?

Just sell it and buy a Td5

Try switching the engine back to petrol before shutting down, that way the excess pressure has been relieved from the pump output.
