ACE question
Hi Guys...I have never noticed before, and there are no lights or leaks, however, when at no speed...sitting in the carport engine running, every 30 seconds or so, there is a "sigh".
First thought was the air con kicking in and out, but eventually traced to the valve block for the ACE.
Now, I understand that at no speed the DCVs to the front and rear are closed and the fluid is on a pump around from the resivoir to the valve body, through the PCV (pressure control valve) and back to the resivoir.
But is the PCV held open in this mode, or spring loaded to allow pressue to relieve only at the set pressure?
The real question being, of course, is this normal?
Thanks

funny you mention that, heard the same thing today whilst bending over the valve block listening to the engine. Sound like a relief valve or something.

Mine make a regular noise every 27seconds. Only thing it can be is ACE pressure relief. I got hold of a shorter belt and bypassed ACE, P/Steer & A/C (independently) and the only time it stopped was without ACE.
