Ive been plagued with the 3 amigos and m&s lights for a long time now. replaced the seals in the shuttle valve and that sorted. them for about 9 months then they reappeared. The nanocom indicated more shuttle valve fault so a new set of seals went in. There was evidence of fluid that had leaked past the seals so i though id aee rhe last of the amigos for a while, but they came back after a few weeks, so to the M&S faults. Meanwhile my auto decided to pack it in at 320,000 kms so a replacement went. in. I get a call from A and B transmissions in Dandenong (highly recommend these guys!) and Syd tells. me the auto wiring loom has perished and needs to be replaced. This is the one that goes to the auto box solenoids, not the xyz / inhibitor switch. I had actually tried to have a look at this loom as i think JC had mentioned in a thread that this could be a possible culprit. Well i didnt find it but it's pretty tough to inspect it thoroughly unless the auto is out.
Needless to say, im nearly 2 weeks in and no sign of either rhe amigos or M&S faults.... let hope thats not me putting the moz on myself!
My point, check this loom if experiencing these issues, at least to exclude them as a possibility!

This is a strange one:
I had the 3 amigos when I got the disco 2002 TD5 series2 auto.
Then I got a "diff lock" warning and mine is the later model with NO DIFF LOCK. Rang the LR ppl and they said it was related to the ABS warnings.
I then proceeded to replace the RF wheel sensor as per diagnositics and finally did the "option b" fix on the SVS.
A member kindly offered to visit with his nanocom magic box to bleed and clear faults.
He proceeded to clear the faults, which the nanocom showed as "no faults" but the only difference in the warning lights was no HDC, the other 2 (ABS and TC) were still lit as well as the "diff lock".
tried the key/door trick and no difference.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the cause and fix?????
Please help, I am running out of time on current rego.
Reverse globe has possibly failed - and check the trailer plug isn't full of crap.
Yes, even if you dont have mechanical diff lock usually the transfer box is fitted with the diff-lock switch and it seems that the switch is closed for some reason or there's a short to earth on that circuit which means the SLABS gets the earth on the diff-lock switch input and on 2002 modell the SLABS will consider that the diff is locked and will bring on the ABS and TC warnings to show you that these are inhibited... crawl under and reach above the transfer box, you should feel the switch and two spade connectors, unplug them and insulate them as to not touch earth, or maybe you find one which is shorting...if no joy we'll speak again

Extinguishing the TC was a mistake... the warmings would have estinguished both by disconecting the switch... now you should go back and pay the man to enable back the TC light if you want to see it working... i thought that my post was clear enough![]()

Hi guys,
I'm having some issues wtih my d2 td5.
Connected nanocom but struggle to understand the result:
a.(16,2) high speed crank (logged).
b.(22,1) road speed missing,(logged).
c.23-15 shuttle valve switch electrical fail - intermittent 123 times
d.fault 01-05 upper and lower accelometer signal too different
It has ace light coming up when hold ignition for longer than 1 second and sometimes when driving flashing red.
I had 3 amigos once on the dash as well.
Could you comment and help me please?
Option B is not the be all and end all... Its a connector bypass...
Only resolves the problem if the circuit pins are in a dry joint state...
A $10 Multi Meter can confirm that without butchering wiring![]()
a. it's about the crank sensor signal, can be due to the sensor, it's wiring or badly worn flywheel
b, c, d, are all ABS related fault codes and being so much it's spossible to be a bad earth to the ECU or ECU fault cos the "road speed missing" code is specific for engine ECM and ACE but it's caused by bad signal(VSS) coming from the SLABS ECU
for the ACE you must find somebody with hawkeye, t4 or autologic to read the fault code cos nanocom is unreliable in that specific area... provided you have enough fluid in the tank and it's circulating hard there cos if it's steady or foaming your pump is gone
