Td5 idler pulleys. Are they all the same ?.

I need to replace the idler pulley that's up near the P/S and A/C and was all set to order one (from the UK) when I noticed in the description that it said for non A/C vehicles. All of the other listings I looked at didn't mention A/C or lack of. The part no. that I was using for a reference is ERR6658 and this is where I got it from.

    http://www.google.com.au/url'sa=t&so...kQuB5w&cad=rja

Am I on the right track or can somebody please put me on it ?.
    Cheers,
    Anthony.

    Don't be comcerned

You're on the right track bloke - the descriptor you should take note of is whether your Disco has ACE or is non ACE as the belt length is different.

Only you will know whether your vehicle has A/C...and to be honest, I really don't know of any TD5 Disco not having air conditioning

Anyhow - try this link. Great guy to deal with by the way

That would be the bracket with 3 bolts that fitts where the ACE pump would be.
They are only on non ACE rigs and use the shorter belt as mentioned.

    Be carefull when ordering it,
I orderd the complete assey only to receive the pulley and bolt only.
Rang a different suplier and the full assey turned up(I now have spare pulley in the kit).

Also it's located on 2 hollow dowels, one of mine went with my old one when I lent it to never see it again.
I ended up using a brass airline olive I had in the shed(due to time constraints).
    Cheers, Kyle

    ERR 6949 Complete asey.

Hope that helps and doesn't confuse things further.

Do you need to replace the pulley or just the bearing??.

Just knock the bearing out with a a hammer and take it to a bearing shop, they have plenty that are the same quality, some better,, and knock a new one back in, save yourself some cash,, if so!!.

I have had one of these bearings go in this pulley.
Was able to get a bearing from local parts supplier for $10.00
    Bearing is HCH V203 6303-2RS
Was an easy knock out, press in job.

Thanks for the replies. I took the advice Big O and Greg and got out for less than 10% of what a new pulley was worth. Marvellous stuff !!! .
