    Right! What's next? - D2a Fixes

    04 TD5 D2a 165,000Km

Feeling good about the rig at the moment as everything seems to be running ok. (touch nearest piece of wood!) But I know it is only a matter of time before the next challenge presents itself.

    Things fixed so far:

    • Oil in injector harness
    • Exhaust Manifold Bolts
    • SLS Bags
    • Rear Door lock Mech
    • Fuel Pressure Regulator

What's it going to be next?

Do they go just go BANG or start rattling a bit first?

They seem to squeak / chirp but rattling could well be a symptom too if it was getting worse.

Well worth getting underneath with a lever to check if you have any concerns.

Fuel pump - easy to fix but expensive.
Chaffed fuel lines - pain in the arse to fix but not as expensive.

    Oh the joy!

Some days owning one of those fuel hungry V8 D2's seems such a good option when you read all the nasty and expensive things that commonly go wrong with TD5 Disco's. ...

Rock on silky smooth, quite and reliable 4L powered D2a.

I better go and check my prop shaft just in case...

    cheers,
    Terry

But Terry - What $$$ you save on repairing well documented issues (which makes them relatively cheap and easy to sort) you pump through your 4000cc $$$ consuming noise maker

I'm sure the Buick V8 was designed by the same guy who designed Harley V Twins... Converting Fuel in to noise and heat with no risk of the by product of horsepower
