I had mine done last year at a dealer and it was around $1,100 with the ball joints included.

Mine used to shimmy when you just touched the brakes, this took all the wobble out out of it and put the wobble in me when they quoted the price.

If you look at RAVE it looks like it is a difficult time consuming job that would be difficult unless you were used to this sort of work.

    Regards Gordo.

pretty sure i could do it myself however will have to buy a good quality press which would set me back the same price as labour.

Buy the press if you are handy.
I got a 10T one from ebay (Chinese) its not too bad for $275, it gives you plenty of work potential on your Landy bushes and bearings etc.

Once the rubber seals on them go they've pretty much had it as gunk wears them out. You will start feeling them as you drive, through instability....they it's really bad. Mine started to make a distinct clicking noise offroad as the wheel moved up and down over bumps.

Jack the vehicle up and try rocking the tyre by holding the top and bottom of the tyre - if there is movement, your ball joints need replacing.

Good question. I'm in the position of having to consider this and the mechanics involved have mentioned that the press needed is bloody big, and not many mechs have them in house. The $1100 quoted here sounds about right, but unfortunate considering the parts are only about $120 for all four.

    cheers
    Nick
