    Nanocom Evo for D2.

    Hi all. I'm toying with the idea of getting my own Nanocom. Is anyone using the new EVO? Is it good? (it sounds like it might be!)

    Where do us Aussies get these? Direct from BBS?

    There are other useful UK based references too. Try lro.com forums and the others that I can't recall off the top of my head sorry.

    My Evo II arrived today and I've already had a play and collected some "fault code bonus points"...

    The best way/place to mount it is still to be decided. There is considerable stiffness in the OBD cable that may need some time to remove, if it will soften up at all. Methinks a few days' worth of 35 degrees + temperatures in a closed cabin will assist.

    In a nutshell though, if you are happy to troubleshoot issues with the vehicle and perhaps do your own repairs/replacement of parts, the Nanocom is the tool of choice IMHO.

    The interface is very easy to learn too. Anyone familiar with PCs wouldn't have any dramas I doubt.

    Perhaps some kind of universal windscreen mount would do the job.

    The bulky cable definately makes it difficult.

    Removing the outer sheath of the cable may make it easier to handle.

    Time for a bit of internet surfing I think.

    Lightbulb Nanocom Evo for D2a TD5

    I plan to copy my neighbours 2a and take out the a/c vent to the left of the steering wheel, fit/screw a thin plate to the top underside and refit the vent - works a treat as a platform for his GPS.
    All I need to do then is work out the best way to tidy up the cabling which will then be too long - and a right angled connector from the evo downwards might help if there is such a thing, unless someone has a better layout to bury the cabling behind somehow.
