Before you pull the shuttle switches, are you sure there's a dry joint in there?

Wardy, having done it yesterday.... i would be happy to help. Its really quite easy. Just make sure you pay attention to what tank you refill when doing the brake bleed!

My shuttle valve socket head screws were locktited in so trying to get them out in situ (my original plan) was out. very easy to pull out the whole shooting match and do it on a bench. It also means that you are nice and careful getting the shuttle valve out of the block. All told I reckon it would take a couple of hours max.

If you are doing Option B you don't need to bleed anything (I guess if people don't use lock-tite anyway).

I replaced mine about 8 months ago and didn't need to remove the module from the car (entirely) and took all up about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Dead easy job if you following the VI instructions/steps.

Wardy 1, it is important to know why you are doing "option B" and not just doing the mod because it worked for others.

You may have done this already, but if not, take the time to establish what is causing your fault.
If you havnt established the cause of the Amigoes, doing the "optioin B" mod could well be a waste of time. With you ending up having to pull it apart again to change the shuttle valve switch or sensors or clean earth points or etc.

I did mine recently and it's easy enough to do. No brake bleeding required. I bought a trailer wiring plug from Jaycar and used solder connectors. It may also be worth getting the SLS bolts as they can deformupon removal (they are very tight).

I'm assuming that "option B" fix is only when the fault for the 3 amigoes is the shuttle valve fault and not a wheel sensor fault

That's correct. As I understand it, the Option B fix sorts out the bad solder joint within the SLABS unit and the SVS unit by bypassing the circuits. If the solder joint is the issue and you replace the SVS you will still get the 3 amigos. I did purchase a new SVS but never fitted it - just did option B. So far so good but ..................I do now occasionally get 2.5 amigos.

The 2.5 amigos are made up of the ABS, HDC and handbrake light - yes, the handbrake light! I've had this happen about 3 times now and the lights are cleared by switching off the ignition and restarting the vehicle. No faults are logged in the SLABS. I put this down to brake squeal and it normally happens just after starting out and the first stop at traffic lights.

Anybody else seen this happen?

Yep. As Franz said. Option B only bypasses the shuttle valve connector inside the slabs unit.
It won't fix a faulty shuttle valve set, or wheel sensor, or anything else.
It simply moves the electrical connection for the switches outside the slabs box to:

A) bypass a faulty internal joint.

provide easy access to the connection for some diagnostics.
