    Brake double pedal ?

Before I did option B and power bled the modulator, best brake pedal feel occurred on the second application, I.e. To get best braking feel I would give the brake pedal a light tap then apply a second press and the pedal would feel much firmer as I applied stopping power.

After option b and all the modulator and line bleeding I no longer have to use the first quick tap of the pedal to get the right feel, first application is nice and "full" for good stopping power.

After helping another member do his option B he reported the same before and after effect on the brakes, .I.e.no first tap required.

I have read previously on here that this "two press" of the pedal thing is common in D 2's.

Previous bleeding of the brake lines had not achieved any change from the " two press" thing so it seems that a good power bleed of the modulator using nanocom has a positive effect on a commonly reported phenomenon.

My guess is that my modulator would not have been properly power bled since original installation.

This bleed is done with all lines closed and hard pressure on the pedal during the modulator cycle.

I certainly have heaps more confidence in stopping the beastie.

So if you too have "double pedal" phenomenon, get access to a nanocom or the like and give your modulator a power bleed.

If you are in Sydney you are welcome to drop by and use mine.

    Cheers
    Al

Yea, used to feel much better in the green one ['99]when I did that,,
The pedal in the silver one ['03]has always been great,, and still IS great even after option B without doing a "nanocom modulator bleed"

Ummm - by my thinking, the difference between light & day is nil, so therefore, your analogy is surmising that there is no difference between your D1 & your D2.

However, further analysis of your post would indicate that this was not the intent, as you liken your D1 to bricks meeting steel plates, and your D2 to being soft & requiring much more effort on the application of the brake pedal to achieve the same result.

Therefore, henceforth, forthwith and thus, I can only deduce that, in fact, your rightfully meant that the force needed to apply the brakes in your D1 was considerably more than that which is required to achieve the same result in your D2.
