Thanks Chris....Bugger about the rear fog switch....I'm thinking about a aircraft type toggle placed above the review mirror, though another OEM would be best....what size fuse should I use( how do you work out what size fuse is required per application).....do they make a weather proof switch for the pole?

Yes you can get weather proof switches.
Check out www.discovery2.co.uk and find the part where he uses a switch carrier off a d1 that sits in the ashtray

Here is a pic of mine. Just need to give it a coat of black paint when I get a chance.
I have a three position switch on the back of my pole - on, off, triggered by reverse.

Way over the top - also it a momentary switch, meaning you need to keep your finger on the remote in order for the light to stay on - one sore finger as a result!

if you found a latching one - it would work, but as for practicality, not sure.

This one is the better choice as it's latching (ON/OFF). The one you listed is only momentary ...

Would it not save having to install two switches and having to ensure that the internal switch was set on to have the external one working?...assuming you carried the remote with you.

Personal choice really - id prefer to have hard wired switches, but the remote would be pretty cool and very easy to install.
