Perhaps explore?? Might be a transaction involving cans rather than dollars!

    Hi Pete,

That's a great suggestion, thanks for posting.

As it happens I have one of those friendly engineering workshops who owes me a favour so I will definitely have a yarn to him about it. I think they have a hoist too so it may be possible to do in situ.

When it's fixed I'll post a few photos here.

I wonder whether this is a relatively common failure on these mounts. The pipework is certainly vulnerable to an impact. One of these days I'll have some underbody protection in this area.

    Thanks again.

There are little white marks on the hoses that line up with a mark on the metal pipe and the thermostat. They need to be assembled together before hand. Jack the Disco up about 2-3" so to give you more room between the sump and axle. But only 2-3inches. Than remove small children from ear shot. Should take about 2hours the first time. All done from undernieth on your back.

From memory, I did them from above and below with few problems when I replaced all the hoses, but had taken out the inlet hoses and shrouds and stuff to the (car's) right of the radiator.

Getting the jesus clips off was the hardest part when I did the hose change set. I ended up with the grinding wheel on the dremel on a flex drive and cutting the clips apart! Hence the replacement with screw hose clamps!

Sorry for revisiting an old thread but thought this was better than starting a new one. My disco is leaking ever so slowly from the rubber pipe the connects between the metal coolant rail and the water pump.. I have a feeling crust and corrosion has built up between the metal and rubber join.. Can anyone tell me if this hose can be slid off without having to take anything else off? Was hoping just to remove clean replace with a new hose and then refill and bleed
