    D2 Putting V8

Started getting a putting when driving its abit rough on start up but gets better the car is book in for a service but not till next week
Thinking it may have dirty plugs it's been ran on cheap fuel for a few months I have always filled it with BP optimax but not the person you has used it lately

I want to change all the leads at the service has anyone put in better leads then standard and did they help power output??

Get a diagnostic check done first. Even a generic OBD-II reader will give you tell tale MAF sensor and O2 sensor readings.

Mine did what you're describing and turned out to be a single O2 sensor (after a local set-up managed to get nearly $3k out of me trying and replacing everything BUT the O2 sensors!! Even had the CATS changed! )
Was nothing to do with leads or plugs.

    Just my 2c worth....

thanks mate thats where I had the engine rebuilt, Pat is a great guy can get a little busy and gets lost but he will always help when I call in.

I had a bit more of a look at it yesturday, and guess what I noticed that one of the bolts off the headers to the cat pipe has come OUT!
most be getting a loss of cO2 here which is then telling the sensor thats its not firing right and F*#king up that bank.

Not sure it would (but I'm no mech), as the middle muffler is located AFTER the O2 sensor so it couldn't be reading the mixture of the gases......but I'll be happy to stand corrected.

That does actually make pretty good sense.

Going to British off road next week. We'll see.

try American & British 4wd Parts, Brooklyn VIC 3012 - Vehicle Spare Parts - TrueLocal

Hey sorry for not reading this been working flat out at Toyota so much that I gave up fixing this myself and one moring before starting afternoon shift I stoped in at TID BROS EXHAUST in spotswood

Got a new STR fitted in lou of the center muffler to give it a better note, and while waiting the boys replaced the 8mm stud missing from the header join and welded the cat heat shield back on for me, great place every friendly and helpful.

this did not fix the running of the car so in to Pat at American and Birtish for a much needed service, working so much i did not have the time to do it so off it went with all the parts needed.

after putting the car on the comp FLASH FLASH cyln 5 dead 6 mis firing, mmmm maybe I should have changed them leads before the last trip damn that pre- trip rush the one you need to do all ways gets you later.

well after a new set of leads BAM and the dirt is gone!!!! ahh no the car fires up an purrrrr's like a kitten damn 2 buck parts done it again.

I can finaly enjoy the new lift kit and see how it handles on road.

    Thanks to
