I agree with you Scott
Having the uni filters has made a marked improvement on keeping the airflow clean.
Using the pre filter in the snorkel and the uni filter in the air box which is also a very snug fit.
When off roading I always take a spare pre filter and main filter with me so I can replace them if required and clean the ones that have been replaced when I have a few minutes spare.

I use Britpart. A very tight fit into the filter box.
It's very dusty here so have tended to change them very 3000k. Seem to do the job.

Cooper are definitely bottom of the draw, lowest price/quality items, Coopers are an aftermarket brand of the Sofegi (sp?) group in Europe.
Generally paper out filters foam, but if fine dust is getting through the genuine, I'd be using whatever works or looking at making a better airbox to take a better filter, space permitting.
LR have switched to a new maker for the air filters. The last one I bought from the UK had the new part number and was far better made than the Mahle stamped LR part I bought locally to replace it.
Where this really shows is around the seal moulding. The Mahle seal has bumps and runs whereas the newer LR part was perfect in this regard.
I've replaced the air box lid since I started this thread. It could be circumstantial but I have seen very little indication of dust getting past the filter since the lid was replaced.
Yeah I 'now' remember you/someone mentioning this before. But it doesn't matter, Genuine filters have all come down in price and are affordable. Why consider after market.Quote:
