    Redemption?

So, the big road trip went off without a hitch(actually it had two Simon--).
    No car problems at all.
and I really did give it a hard time towing 1800kgs coming home, twice it was in first at 3.5k climbing a hill ( dont tow the New England), lots of full load down shifts, both manual and unintended.
From 5am Sunday till 11.30pm I worked its arse off.

    so what do you think?

I think you should give it to me along with $1000 (to cover any incidental repairs) and I will save you having to wonder.

Just think, all those $$$$ you will save by not having to spend any more on the D2 can be put towards a sparkly new D4!

So, apart from the long term, not starting properly problem, and the ACE hose problem.
I put the BSL(Big Silver Lemon) into another mechanics to check which ACE hose needed replacing, he suggested getting the area degreased before he started removing stuff, which I thought was reasonable. As luck would have it there was a car detailer next door,,, So that arvo I get a call saying he couldnt fix it and come round and pick it up. So I arrive to find both running boards had been bent up. A quick discussion resulted in the finger being pointed at the detailers next door, so in I go and he asks for payment! After another more heated discussion he agreed to fix it, another couple of hours later I arrive to pick it up and I can see the footprints on the boards where they've just been jumping on them

    and he still wanted money.
I just got in the car and drove off,,

only to find once it clicked over to LP it only ran on 7----

    The good news?
My usual mechanic removed and replaced the inlet hose from the LP rail-
and it ran like a bought one,,,

Me thinks maybe those businesses need a little visit from the AULRO Flying Squad ! ... do a little detailing of our own !

As for the BSL .... keep telling you to get a rattler and get it chipped .... but, are you DEAF or something !!! ????

.... ah, sorry, didn't realise, you couldn't hear over the din of 3.5k in 1st

It may have redeemed itself for now, but I'd be watching the guages like a hawk AND getting it some new oil

So, winter 2013 and a great time for a new--
battery! 4 years,, Ok, benefit of the doubt there,,
and just when you think the BSL has reached its limit of things to go wrong we just have to put it in to get the roof leaks fixed. The actual frame surround at the front is broken and the GPS/phone plug at the rear is leaking. "Never seen one break like that" of course not. no one has.
Did some sloppy Englishman drop cigar ash in it on the production line?
