I think you will find that you may have ordered the replacement part that needs to be painted to match. Either that, or LR brought out 2 different ones, which wouldn't surprise me...

You could either paint it, or depending on the cost, see if you can order a gloss black one.

As for the brake clunk when starting, this is the ABS pressurizing. Nothing to worry about.

No, they are actually all matt black, no glossy parts. The gloss comes with baking in the sun and the numerous car wash it will see in it's life.

Should have ordered 2. Bet the other one is also in a very similar condition as they only come off when you replace the windscreen - typically.

I recently replaced both pillars and the plenum. Looks great.

    Regards
    Andrew

(Also the brake noise (clunk) is normal, should feel it in the brake pedal when you start the car).

Two part numbers DCB500060PMA (RHS) and DCB500070PMA (LHS).

I buy my parts from this place generally. Britcar (UK) Ltd. Even if you don't buy from them they show the price in $AUD so you now straight up if it's worth while to shop around. Generally you can save a load of cash.

You'll need to get a copy of Microcat which tells you all the part numbers etc (car parts catalogue).

Mine were replaced after a dodgy windscreen fitter broke all the plastic retaining clips inside them. Mine were gloss black from new (2003 D2a) and these replacements are matt black.

You get used to it after about 10 seconds..

Trust me the windescreen fitter was working on a even dodger Land Rover designed component. That being the A piller cover. I'm suprised they don't quote this a replacement part with the windscreen.
