Reduction of body roll is a fashion thing . It has very little to do with safety .

In fact body roll can be a message to slow down a little , so it could be argued that it is in the realm of ABS , in that having minimal body roll encourages the driver to drive too fast for the conditions.

And we all know how utterly reliable the system is.

Can't comment on the ACE reliability thing, but not sure I agree with the sentiement of ABS here. I don't think many people would drive more aggressively because they have ABS, but I've been in situations where the ABS braking has stopped serious accidents occuring.
Being such a tall car, I reckon the ACE is probably a good thing. My old Navara makes it around roundabouts better than the Disco with ACE. Would hate to drive it without ACE.

ACE or no ACE ... with the turning circle of my D2, sometimes I don't make it around a round-a-bout!

I don't have ACE, but it's a 2.5t truck ... I don't expect it to drive like a car.

Agreed for sure, my mech spent months trying to find the issue with my ACE system, the light would immediately be orange the moment I hit the key & by the time she was at running temp I'd have the light turn red & chimes going off! Replaced fluid, filters, rams, valve block etc etc but called no joy. It ended up being a perfectionist thing for him so when I told him I was out of cash & couldn't afford to chase the issue anymore he said its all good, since then he's had my D2 in his garage for weekends on the odd occasion still chasing, my ACE has been disabled & as I don't drive the truck like a car, I've rarely noticed any difference. I don't mind slowing down for corners, roundabouts etc so.....

You should try manoeuvring a 130 with wider than stock tyres if you think a DII is bargey

I spent a lot of time a few years ago and until about 2008 there were several studies on ABS effect on accident rates.
Most of the studies EG Munich taxi drivers found an increase in accidents with ABS, and a major NHTSA study found more single vehicle accidents but marginally fewer 2 vehicle accidents.
There was no hallelujah result.
When you remember that ABS was pushed by the major US based insurers , on the basis that they would reduce policies for cars fitted with it, this is a less than ringing endorsement, and the policies were never reduced as there was never a reduction in accidents.

HOWEVER , ABS has enabled those somewhat useful things, HDC and stability control.
In ten years of driving cars with ABS, I have never activated it in an emergency, by driving within the car's capabilities, but lots do drive on it.

I tell you what do not ask me about EBD ( Electric Braking for Dummies?) . I HATE IT!!!

Do you know what codes are being logged? Checking the live data from the sensors canalso help identify an issue. There are a few threads on uk forums where after much cash has been spent randomly replacing parts the problem was fixed by replacing the ECU. The faulty ECU 's seem to give haywire sensor values when reading the inputs.

I'll pass that info on Offtrack, thankyou. AFAIK the fault codes were being monitored throughout the process of elimination so to speak but the ECU wasn't thus far replaced.
Might try that & see how she goes.
