From what I have read you may need your ECU reset with a Nanocom.

Nobody seems to have advised the obvious , but seeing you have just got the car it means that the instruments do not match the ECU.

This suggests that the car may have been "clocked". ie another instrument console with lower ks replacing the original.

I would be going back to where I bought it and asking some very pointed questions , and maybe if unsatisfied talking to the police.

Your BCU and Instrument cluster our not synchronized...

You may be in for a nasty shock, or it may have just lost sync...

Take it back, get it synced and check your odometer doesn't climb like the wind!

Maybe not such bad news...

Mine did that after 3 years of ownership so it hadn't been clocked. Caused by water ingress behind the dash after a new windscreen was fitted which also confused the central locking, indicators, starter & changed the P,R,N,D,3 etc indicator on the dash to "B" Once the water had dried, all the faults disapeared except for the flashing odo.

Easily reset with my nanocom.
