Truspeed not staying true

I am running 32" tyres. I have set it to be accurate at 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 100km/h. When I finished tuning it, it was accurate at all those speeds within 1-2km/h.
Came back the next day and it was out. Readjusted it. Next day it was out again.
I tried Setting 2. Set that. Came back the next day and the speedo was reading too slow. The day after the speedo was reading too fast. This morning it was accurate again and by this afternoon it was out again.

It only excepts calibration at ONE speed, 100kph is the best speed to set it too.

I am having the same drama, I brought mine from the same supplier a few weeks ago.

once calibrated it stays in tune till you turn the ignition off & as above it will either be too slow or too fast on the next start up but after 15 to 20 mins of driving it goes back to where it was calibrated to.

im thinking its a faulty batch or the design has changed and it needs a full time power source to retain it's memory.

Personally, I have not found this to be true. When I have calibrated by unit, I have found it to be accurate at all speeds from 40 - 100km/h within a 1-2km/h error margin.
I have found this on at least 4 occasions.

According to the official instructions from 4x4DE:

Hi all,

I have only been brought to the attention that there are some issues with the TrueSPeed unit. I've read the threads and all I can say that we are trying the best we can to resolve it with the manufacturer. For future discussions about the issue we will be happy to address them via our email sales@4x4de.com.au that way we will know about it sooner.

Emails have been sent to the manufacturer so we are hoping for some sort of resolution to the problem shortly. Sorry for the time delay however it is at times difficult dealling with different time zones.

This is the first time over the last 8 years that we have been selling this product that we have come up with this issue so we will do all we can to resolve it.

I have a Scan gauge in my RRS and have setup the speed section against my GPS - is always within 1/2 kph at all speed ranges. I have the scangauge set up just under the instruments and I use the speed function over the cars speedo all the time - the cars speedo is reasonably accurate but a bit hard to read - scangauge is clear and accurate.

OK well you keep doing what your doing getting the same result.

Just for your info, I had a truespeed in my D2 for 6yrs, followed Slunnies instructions and never had a problem, mine was set to 100kph and was dead accurate for the 6yrs:cool:

Hello.

I've been watching this thread with interest and ask if anyone has yet had the chance to implement smoothy629's solution, albeit might be a bit too soon. But if so, did it work and is it accurate over the full speed range? I ask as I have slightly larger than std tyres and although I do have an accurate GPS installed I'm a fussy bugger and still want my speedo to read correctly.

Hopefully the fix will work and has been installed in all new Truspeed units.

The solution is a 1 for 1 replacement of the faulty unit for a new replacement unit. It's not really a process or anything that you can implement. Currently waiting to receive my replacement unit, I assume they are waiting for the stock to arrive from overseas - so probably won't be sorted until late January I imagine...
