Thread: Fan belt problem

I've got a 2002 Disco v8 4ltr & today I had to replace the fan belt because of loosing one of the belts ribs. After installing the new one I noticed that the belt was not sitting properly on the pulley on the PAS PUMP - it seems to want to ride up towards the block onto the first rib & stay there. Just wondering if anyone can advise if the idle pulley may be worn or if there is some way of adjusting it etc?
Obviously that must be why the original belt wore down.

If the belt is wandering on the PAS pulley then the feed pulley to it is out of alignment.
