Thread: Vibration/shudder, another reason for EGR mod.

I had a shudder/vibration that at first I thought was the auto trans. as it would disappear when put in 'N' but eventually got so bad that it wasn't just at idle and wouldn't disappear in 'N'. After changing engine mounts which needed doing anyway, my mechanic eventually traced it to the EGR opening slightly, even if just a slight load was put on the engine i.e. putting it in gear or tickling the throttle. Did the EGR mod. and vibe gone. It seems to hang onto a gear now lower down the rev. range before changing down.
