Awesome looking setup, CJT, and thanks for the info.
I found some carpet at bunnings which pretty much exactly matches the original LR carpet. So i might give that a go. Ill definitely check out clark rubber first though.
With your setup, i noticed that the top shelf nicely follows the contour of the trim, with the bin removed. I was just wondering how you went about that? How did you transfer the shape of the curve onto the ply to then cut it?

Just keep trimming the cardboard back a little at a time until you have a nice tight fit.
I then took off an extra 10mm to allow for the thickness of the marine carpet as it bends around the ply.
I have a problem with my Waeco 40L, it doesnt have handles, its the older version.
Has anyone successfully strapped one of these down.
I use a big ratchet strap that holds the second battery down in the back on the LHS with a false floor above it. The fridge is on the RHS, cut into the false floor, the fridge cover has some eyelets but I dont think they would do much. I am seriously thinking of just drilling some holes in the case and attaching straps to those.

What is the best material to make the false floor out of? Ply? If so, are there different types of ply that are better than others? I can get a 1200 x 2400 sheet of15 mm ply from bunnings for $30.

You can use ordinary ply from bunnings but just do not let it get wet as it starts to swell.
15mm should work as long as you have a good frame under neath, or if your just putting it on the cargo floor.
I have used two layers of 10 or 12mm ply laminated together however that was mainly to allow for the tie downs to be recessed etc. so I have a flat surface with the rings removed.
Hey cjt, thanks again! I am making a false floor, so it will sit flat against the boot floor. Marine ply is significantly more expensive so if I can get away with regular ply I would like to. Hopefully the carpet ads a level of protection. I would also be able to give it a coat of something to waterproof it further. Can you recommend an adhesive for attaching the carpet to the ply?

No worries.
I used spray adhesive I bought from Bunnings or Autoban, cannot remember wich one and folded the carpet around the base of the ply by around 25mm and stappled with two rows of 8mm staples.
Another quick question fellas:
When attaching the fridge slide to the carpeted floor, is it OK to drill through the carpet, or is this not advisable? Same goes for drilling the holes for the bolts to the existing holes from the tie downs. I heard that drilling through carpet can cause a thread to be pulled along the entire length.
If it isn't good to drill through the carpet, how did you go about attaching the fridge slide?

Mine is just an Engel fridge slide with 40L Engel, but mounted on top of a set of Boab drawers. To mount the slide, I drilled straight through the carpet and top panel of the Boab system - can't see any issue at all with drilling through the carpet.
That system you're building looks good Chris.
