    copper injector washers

Just replacing my injector o-rings and washers and the new copper injector washers are smaller than the ones that came out.

Is this just because when they are installed they crush a little and expand?

OR... do i have the wrong parts?

The washers aren't genuine but were supplied by a reputible land rover specialist. They said that they use them in their workshop.

    Thanks

Yeah I know that's what the genuine part number is but mine aren't genuine.

Does anyone have any first hand experience?

if your washers came in a britpart box tirf em and go get the genuine ones OR order more, Britpart quality control is hit and miss, Ive had a set turn up with 3 the same size and 2 smaller ones....

Update....... Thanks to all for the replies.

I have ordered genuine for not that much more than aftermarket.

In an express bag will arive tomorrow so i can fit tomorrow evening for my departure to vic high country from brisbane on saturday!!

Must say the service and advice from MR Automotive was excellent.... again. They told me they now only use genuine after they had issues with the smaller ones.

Im a bit peeved about getting the wrong ones initially. I was going to get genuine but the Dealer didnt have any in stock. So i got the aftermarket items on the reccommendation of a Rover specialist garage.

I cant see how they can sell them when they are quite obviously so different. At least they agreed to give me a refund.

I know your pain, I bought 5 washers two weeks ago from a reputable supplier, asked for genuine & received two genuine in sealed LR bags and 3 lose washers in a resealable bag.

I wouldn't have known the difference until I compared them, the non-genuine's had a smaller outside diameter and more importantly were definitely thinner, for all I know they could have come from Bunnings, what I do know is that they were not the same quality as the genuine part.

    ....was so not happy

after a quick trip to a trusted supplier I had a complete set of LR parts. Certainly won't be going back to the first place.
