Thread: Very Flat TD5 ..... lots of things

Just fitted Ashcroft torque converter took a month due to lots of things. now running and the following has been happening.
First was over at idle heating up very fast sort of fixed this now goes up to 96 at the lights was going to over 100
secondly no power under 2000 rpm a too much of black smoke then driving there is still some smoke there. Once over 2000 rpm goes not bad.
Done air cleaner,checked hoses, cleaned intercooler, clean MAF,MAP, and the one in the airbox.
The car has a VNT straight through exhaust and LPG Before changing the torque converter it was going very well no problems at all. Could the VNT have got stuck in the closed position? As sitting for a month spins great.
Also a new crank sensor was fitted is there a wrong way this could be in it runs ok but over all is very Flat any ideas or have a missed anything ?Should be going alot better for what is on it.
Or is there nothing wrong and just in need of remap.......being shown up more by the torque converter ...

Usually you wouldn't do a converter upgrade unless you have had a remap, which I believe you have looked into now
Stock map will struggle and I know TD5Alive will account for all these changes when they do the map.

With all the mods, do the map.
