Pulled the inspection plate from the ZF bell housing to inspect my TC/ Flex plate nuts and this drops on me:
16mm bolt head.
Looks to be an intermediate plate bolt?
So hit me with the bad news, Immobile until I pull the box, right?

RAVE says to discard the TC to flex plate bolts on removal, so likely they are one-shots that have been used twice.There are 4 bolts that hold the flex plate to the crank adaptor but they look like reduced head size bolts rather than 16/17mm. The adaptor is bolted to the end of the crank with 6 allen head bolts. BTW I reckon your bolt is 17mm head by my eyesight.
By memory you'd be hard pressed to have even just the head of flex/crank bolts come out from in between, I thought there was more than 4 joining the flex to crank (right about the socket head cap screws to crankadaptor/crank though). It's not one of the 4 flex to TC bolts (easily ID'd when turning the TC to unbolt).
I'd turn the TC and check the TC/flex first. If it's one of those it's a box out to remove the stud thats left (unless you're really lucky). I think theye're a half thickness head as they need the clearance. In trying to remember when I had mine out. TC in box. Flex on crank. Fit box to engine, turn engine to align TC holes to flex holes. The bolts when turning in the upper half of the bell housing run pretty close to the back of the engine and so are reduced heads.

Rave/ D2/Repairs/Engine/ plate-drive-Automatic has 8 Hex head bolts. no mention or picture of reduced/ thin head bolts.
Used in D2a maybe?

There's an adaptur hub bolted to the crank with the cap screws mentioned earlier and then the flex plate bolts to that with the eight bolts mentioned in Rave. The flex bolts to the torque converter with only 4 bolts around the outer circumference, these should have a reduced head (for the reasons I mentioned earlier).
There's two rubber plugs (one each side) to access the bolts of the flex/tc. Get someone to turn the engine and watch for the bolts, hopefully you'll see one missing. Only other suggestion is I'd call TRS in Adelaide as they should know whats going on in there or send an email to Ashcrofts (or PM through here) Ian could probably tell you in his sleep what it's off.
