Hi Pete
Just the usual hints, warm the outside of the nut to loosen any thread locker and leave the serpentine belt in place to add some resistance to the pulley, give the spanner a good whack in the same direction that the fan spins.
if the hub has been failing for some time, the fan can wind off when the engine decelerates quickly, so you are probably right about the thread locker being used.
.

Any hints for removal of cooling fan hub seized onto carrier bearing? I've tried the usuals, including hammer upgrade, but I think the dribbler who did all the other repairs might have used thread locker to "make sure the fan didn't come off"!
